As another reviewer said, I had to cut off a about 3/8 square piece of my spindle allow for the backing plate, but was prepared because other.

Up to 1/4 of material may need be removed on the top spindle.

Our flat plate steering arms will not fit this backing. Parts were very heavy duty and well made. Everything assembled as expected.

Used a cutting wheel on die grinder for the initial cut and ground to get final fit. Do not have to adjust every 400 miles. Once installed they work fine, much better than the original non-self energizing.

There was significant clearance issues between the backing plate and spindle.

I agree, Speedway could make this more clear, but overall it worked out very well. I have 39 Ford wide 5 pattern wheels and drums that wanted to use.
